We cannot survive without protein, as protein contains amino acids, which are the very building blocks of enzymes, some hormones, muscle, bone, tendons and much more.
There is huge controversy over how much protein we really need and the dietetic advice and RDA’s seem to be so out of date now. The latest science also shows that as we age, we need even more protein, to counter age-related loss of muscle (sarcopenia).
